TVT partners with Ginco Germany to support girls’ education in Kenya

The demand for financial support to bright children and especially girls from poor families continues to be a major challenge for TVT. Even though education in Kenya is free at the primary school level, there are so many children who are unable to afford basic things like uniform and books to stay in school. To address this need, TVT has been working closely with Bethel College, individuals, Earth Concern International and a German non-governmental organization called GinCo
Ginco support the girls who are in the final years of primary school to remain in school and do their exams leading to Kenya Certificate of Primary Education. Through the support of Ginco, TVT has been able to provide, books, uniforms, school fees, shoes and solar lumps. Ginco is currently supporting, 3 girls (Peris, Eunice and Christine) who will be sitting for their KCPE this year.

Some of these girls are total orphans who would otherwise not be school were it not for TVT- Ginco partnership. The aim of the future partnership is to support these needy girls to be in boarding schools as opposed to being in day public schools. This way they will be able to focus more on their studies. When they are day scholars they miss classes because sometimes they have no food at home and they are forced to work for food.
It costs US$ 300 per year to support children in public primary schools per year and TVT invites those willing to support education of needy children to contact TVT at [email protected].
