She was born in 1999 in Meru county. She is the last born in a family of five. Her father disappeared in the year 2000. Her mother got sick and she was diagnosed with brain cancer. She later passed away in the year 2007 leaving Karimi and her other siblings under the care of their sickly and elderly grandmother. Through TVT-GinCo Partnership Karimi was able to perform very well in her KCPE (Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education) last year. TVT is proud of this young girl because despite the challenges she has made and she has joined Karima Girls high which is one of the best National schools. We expect her to perform extremely well now that she is in a boarding school and all the challenges/needs are catered for. Karimi is a cheerful young girl with so much enthusiasm in whatever she does. She is bright and easily fits in any social setting. She is friendly inquisitive, easily makes friends and always ready to learn new things.
