TVT organized a free medical camp in Meru County on August 11, 2018. The broad aims of the medical camp were to make quality health care available for free to the poorest of the poor in a rural Kenya community
TVT Donates books and sanitary pads to a poor schoolin Meru County
25th May, 2018 is a day which will stay in the memories of the pupils, parents and teachers of Kiremu primary school for a long time. The community was truly grateful to TVT for their concern of the education of their children. TVT donated text books for classes 1-8 and sanitary pads for all the girls in the school to last for 5 months.
Holiday mentorship Seminar popular with students

Greening our villages and schools
The tree planting exercise was very successful and exiting to the pupils, teachers, parents and the TVT staff who participated in the exercise.
2018 Women's Day
As we celebrate this year’s International women’s day, TVT wishes to congratulate all people of good will who have sacrificed their time, efforts and money to empower awomen.
Education is a right for all and not a Privilege of a few
TVT Library services are located the TVT Training Centre. The Centre houses offices of the TVT, tailoring school and community grain bank.
First TVT Reading Competition was a Huge Success
On 26th August 2016, TVT held the first reading competition and it was a huge success. The reading competition attracted students from both lower and upper secondary classes. The audience who turned up in large numbers included parents and relatives who came to witness the historical event at the TVT training house in Meru.

GinCo Teams Annual Meeting 19th & 20th Jan 2017

GinCo Germany is not in partnerships with TVT only but it’s also in Kisumu, Kibera, Samburu. These four teams meets annually to celebrate their achievements as GinCo family. This year’s meeting was different because the meetings were held two day consecutively .The meeting on 19th January 2017 took place at Jacaranda Africa which was facilitated by Ms Alice Migwi. The teams discussed the following questions in details:

•    What are roles of girls in the community?
•    How does the roles affect the life of a girl child?
•    How the community can improve the life of a girl child?

At the end of this participative discussion all the teams therefore will be able to:

•    Understand the challenges the girl child faces in their respective regions.
•    Learn from one another through active participatory model.
•    Explain traditional lifestyles and practices in their regions.
•    Describe factors that contribute to the dropping out of girl child from school.
•    Explain how those factors can be controlled.
•    Mentor and impact the girl child using different training methodologies.

The following day   GinCo team held its annual celebrations at Mchanganyiko in kibera, where the teams gave the updates of 2016 last mile achievements, challenges and also gave the suggestions  on the way forward. Mentorship programme was also discussed where the GinCo Germany proposed that they would like the mentorship programme to be standardized for all the teams for proper monitoring and evaluation. The team also celebrated the GinCo five years birthday and promised to work very hard towards making GinCo a big organization in future and more so encouraging the GinCo girls to do their best  in school for them to come and  give back to the community after their achievements.

Therefore TVT officials yearly gets an opportunity to share with other GinCo teams, the successes and challenges of the Last mile programme and as a team comes up with solutions to the challenges.
